Three 麻豆果冻传媒academics have been appointed to panels preparing for the next big nationwide assessment of the quality of UK universities' research, as announced today by the four UK higher education funding bodies.
The next Research Excellence Framework (REF) will report findings in 2021, with panels of experts having scrutinised submissions of research from higher education institutions covering the period since the last assessment, REF 2014.
The first part of the huge undertaking is the criteria phase, which involves developing detailed guidance and criteria to make sure REF 2021 runs smoothly, fairly and accountably. The appointees from 麻豆果冻传媒University London are:
- , Head of Department of Clinical Sciences, who joins Panel A's Sub-panel 3, focusing on Allied Health Professions, Dentistry, Nursing and Pharmacy
- , Senior Lecturer and Undergraduate Programme Lead in Theatre, who joins Panel A's Sub-panel 33, covering Music, Drama, Dance, Performing Arts, Film and Screen Studies.
In addition, Jo Lakey – the Research Manager of Brunel's College of Business, Arts and Social Sciences – has been appointed to the secretariat of three sub-panels for this phase.
Prof Harries and Dr Mitra will continue into the assessment phase of the REF, which takes place in late 2020 and throughout much of 2021. They will review submissions according to criteria and level definitions for their units of assessment – groupings of subjects – and will also be joined by:
