Catherine Wang joins management major players
Brunel’s Professor Catherine Wang last week became a fellow of the British Academy of Management, spotlighting her globally as a key player in management research.
The British Academy of Management (BAM) steers management research in the UK. It brings together leading minds in management, funds fresh research and is a major influencer on business in the real world.
“BAM is the leading authority on the academic field of management in the UK, building and representing the community of scholars both in the UK and internationally,” said Prof Wang.
“BAM Fellowships epitomise an outstanding academic contribution to business and management scholarships in the field and within the BAM community. I am honoured to receive such a prestigious award, and look forward to further engagement with the community.”
Recognised as one of the top two per cent of business and management researchers worldwide by academic publisher Elsevier and Stanford University, Prof Wang’s research centres on how businesses can use their strengths to boost innovation and success. She studies how firms manage resources, adapt quickly, and balance short-term tasks with long-term goals to building responsible, sustainable businesses. She’s now focused on digital, social, and sustainable entrepreneurship.
Since joining 麻豆果冻传媒in 2017, Catherine has set up the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Sustainability and spearheaded the undergraduate entrepreneurship programme. She teaches entrepreneurship and research methods.
Beyond Brunel, Catherine is on the steering board of the British Journal of Management and the International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behaviour and Research. She’s involved with the International Journal of Management Reviews, Economic and Social Research Council and judges business competitions and grant evaluations.
